5. Time-of-Flight Aerosol Mass Spectrometer (ToF-AMS)
Provides real time size and chemical mass composition (Organics, SO42-, NO3–, NH4+, Cl–) of non-refractory sub-micron aerosol particles
- Sample flow: 0.85 lpm
- Aerodynamic lens at the inlet allows efficient separation of gas and particle phase
- Particle size range: ~0.04 – ~1 µm
- Particle aerodynamic diameter determined from particle time-of-flight (velocity) measurements using a particle beam chopping technique
- Particles thermally vaporised followed by electron impact ionization
- Mass spectrometer: Compact Time of Flight (C-ToF)
- Mass range: 0-1000 Th
- Mass resolution (M/ΔM): 800
- 1-5 minute typical data reporting interval
- Custom acquisition and analysis software

6. NAIS
Aerosol composition – particles: ~2 to 40 nm, ions: 3.2 to 0.0013 cm2/V/s, (equivalent size range: 0.8 to 40 nm)

7. Sonic 3D anemometers, humidity and temperature sensor
To make eddy covariance observations to derive surface fluxes of heat, moisture and gases we have sonic 4 x Campbell Scientific CSAT3 anemometers. These are 3 component anemometers with up to 60Hz sampling frequency.
Humidity and Temperature are measured with a Campbell Scientific HC2S3-L sensor.
